Phillip Jones owner operator of Marineman was born in Capetown, South Africa.

He attended Oude Molen Technical High School and studied Mathematics, Science, Technical drawing, Motor Mechanics and 2 languages.

1985

After high school he was drafted into the South African Defense Force where he served his time as a diesel mechanic in Namibia, close to the Angolan border.

1987

Honorably discharged and a decorated veteran he began a 4 year apprenticeship at A Brink Diesel in Cape Town. Working as an apprentice with a Journeyman during the day and attending college classes as required during the evenings.

After 4 years or training he travelled to The Olifantsfonein Apprenticeship testing facility where he took the 4 day practical and academic test. Passing the test he was now an A class mechanic

The Marineman business was opened in San Diego

Marineman has been repairing boat engines and other technical below deck systems for more than 30 years.

From 8 Hp single cylinder diesels to V8 turbo charged after cooled 480 Hp diesels.

Marineman has extensive knowledge of Fuel Injection and Turbo Chargers
